Senior Centers

Senior centers act as vital community hubs that support aging in place by providing social, health, and recreational services, such as meal programs, fitness classes, transportation, and counseling. They foster community connection, reduce loneliness, and serve as central resources for older adults to stay active, independent, and engaged.

Key services and community benefits include:

  • Social & Emotional Support: Centers provide spaces for peer interaction, new friendships, and activities, preventing isolation and depression.
  • Health and Wellness: Offerings often include health education, nutrition programs and wellness activities (e.g., fitness classes, yoga, pickleball) that help maintain mobility and reduce falls.
  • Essential Resource Access: Many centers offer public benefits, counseling, employment assistance and transportation services.
  • Lifelong Learning & Creativity: They provide education, arts, and crafts and computer skills training to keep minds active.
  • Community Integration: Senior centers offer volunteer opportunities and intergenerational programs that connect older adults with the broader community.

Contact your local Senior Center to learn all the programs and services they provide.

Our Senior Centers serve the community by participating in the Elderly Nutrition Program. This program provides hot, nutritional meals either in the Senior Center as a congregate meal or by home-delivery.
