Options Counseling helps families make decisions about long term care and supportive services. This makes it easier to access and understand relevant information so families can turn it into knowledge to make informed choices.
Options Counseling serves persons of all incomes needing more detailed counseling about how to put together a plan, whether that is in-home services, assisted living or other housing options, or if a nursing home is the only viable option. Counseling is also helpful when making a transition from one setting to another, or when a caregiver hits the wall. While information by phone is always available, services have been expanded to offer face-to-face consultation for families.
Under our Aging and Disability Resource Center, the Area Agency on Aging provides impartial and unbiased information and assistance, Benefit Counseling, Benefits Enrollment, and Options Counseling. The goal is to empower you to make informed decisions based on your individual needs, preferences, values, personal and financial resources, and individual circumstances. We serve persons age 60 and over and their family caregivers.
